Recognizing the limitations of existing DTG technology for his unique vision, Eric embarked on a bold venture to convert older printers for DTF printing. Through relentless experimentation and leveraging software designed for DTG, he meticulously mastered ink settings to achieve the perfect DTF transfer. This groundbreaking work not only set the stage for unparalleled print quality but also established DTF-Prints.com as a beacon of innovation in the industry.
The initial success on Etsy was nothing short of phenomenal. Eric’s Etsy shop quickly went viral, attracting a deluge of orders far beyond what one person could handle. This prompted the hiring of a dedicated team, and together, they embarked on an intense journey of printing around the clock, often working 18-hour days to meet the soaring demand.
However, success on Etsy came with its challenges. Issues with payouts, arbitrary cancellations, and refunds on already shipped orders took a toll. Disenchanted with losing nearly 60% of his income to a platform that seemed increasingly adversarial, Eric made the difficult decision to sever ties with Etsy. Despite generating over $20,000 a month, the principle mattered more, leading to a pivotal shift in our business model.
Today, Eric operates DTF-Prints.com from a state-of-the-art facility in Tampa, Florida.
